Preparing for a Hurricane…a weather storm….or a storm in your personal life?
Have you ever really thought about what you would do if a storm or hurricane came to visit?
Gathering Information
Sometimes the weather is not an all-out storm or hurricane, but there can be damaging winds. There is still damage.
Now is the time to prepare for the storms that come into our lives. Do you have this information available?
- Local Emergency Management office contact information
- County Law Enforcement contact information
- Local hospital locations and phone numbers
- Local utilities Local shelter locations, emails, phone numbers
- Make sure you tell someone where you are going
- Make sure that when you leave that you are going far enough away to get away from the danger of the storm
- Make sure that your technology is powered up and that you have back-up power
- Take identification for your children and yourself
- Take birth certificates, social security cards, passports
- Money (cash), checkbook, account information, credit cards
- Keys (house, office, car, safety deposit box, etc.)
- Driver’s license and vehicle registration
