How can abuser be helped so that he or she will not be an abuser ever again? There are a number of steps, but with hard work and following of the steps it can happen.

  1. Admit to yourself and others that you have an abuse problem.
  2. Seek professional counseling with someone who is well versed with domestic violence and the abuser.
  3. If you have Christian beliefs pray to God that you can stop the abuse and ask Him to show you the way out of the abuse cycle.
  4. Apologize sincerely to anyone you have abused.
  5. Be vigilant about your past, ensuring that you don’t repeat your previous actions.
  6. Be aware of things that trigger you to anger that can quickly turn into abuse.
  7. Enlist a friend or someone you can trust to keep you accountable in not going back to your abuser ways

By following these steps, it is not only possible, but likely to control your anger and never abuse another individual again.
