Preparing for a Hurricane…a weather storm….or a storm in your personal life?

Gathering Information Continued ...

  • Medications and prescriptions, medical records, vitamins
  • Phone numbers for doctors and other important professionals
  • Lease/rental agreement, mortgage information
  • All legal papers
  • School and vaccination records
  • Insurance information for home, car, health, etc.
  • Address book (If it is on your computer, you will want to print a hard copy in case you do not have internet or electric)
  • Items that will make your children comfortable (blankets, favorite toys…don’t forget your comfort also)
  • Photos that are important to you and a few special treasures
  • A shelter for your pets or to make sure you can bring your four-legged family with you
  • Keep some of your/children’s favorite non-perishable foods and snacks
  • Have non-electric can opener
  • Water is very important. Save your containers and get the water from your tap. No need to spend $100’s of dollars
  • Sometimes we do not leave our homes. Remember to make sure that if you stay, that you are safe. Stay safe
  • Make sure that you know the warning signs of a storm/hurricane
  • If you are in a dangerous situation, call 911
  • Make sure that you have a full tank of gas, You don’t know how far you will need to travel
  • If it is important to your children, remember to take it
