Preparing for a Hurricane...a weather storm....or a storm in your personal life?
Sometimes no matter what we do, there may be damage done to our personal belongings and to our emotions. We will suffer loss. After the storm is over, you will need to review the damage.
- Deal with the loss a little at a time
- Be sure that you have a support system that is there to help you through the mess of clean up/and or loss of memories
- Keep your children/pets as calm as possible during this time of transition. You may need to find temporary or different housing
- Remember, if you find yourself in this situation, you will need to take breaks. Allow your friends to help you with the overwhelming task of cleaning up and your loss
- It is ok if you run out of energy and and need to sit and have a quiet cup of coffee. Just as you are trying to keep the “normal” for your children, you need to do something that is “normal” for yourself
Remember….
Joshua 1:19 ESV “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord you God is with you wherever you go.”
Psalm 28:7 KJV “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore, my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him.”
Phillippians 4:10 ESV “And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
II Thessalonians 3:3 NIV “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.”
