In the past weeks, we have seen how anger can lead to domestic violence. Most, if not all of us do not want to have violence in our lives. Did you know that Super Bowl Sunday is the number one day for domestic violence? Emotions are high, money is wagered on the outcome, an outcome we have absolutely no control over. A simple innocent comment can lead to an explosion of emotion, that while unintended, can never be taken back. Think about this: how important is it for you to learn to take control of your anger? You may be a person with a “short fuse” or maybe you have a “long fuse,” regardless of how short or long your fuse is, you need to know what you need to do to make sure that fuse never runs out and an explosion, verbally or physically occurs. Remember what the experts say, call a time out, walk away, put off the discussion to a calmer time when emotions are not running as high, but do whatever you have to do to keep your emotions in control. In almost all cases, domestic violence occurs because of anger. Controlling anger is the BEST way to control domestic violence towards someone you love or even yourself.
